“The more of me I be, The clearer I can see.” Rachel Archelaus What a difference a year has made. Second pic is from last year’s King Studio Tour. It reminds me of where my head was at last year. I was feeling frustrated and scribbled the words exuberant, Pollyanna-like, sensitive, light-hearted, strong-but-bending and dramatic in my journal around this time last year. I thought those words described me and modified these words as I created and also noticed a shift in my work as I considered them. I now have the clarity to see I don’t want to be liked (or my work to be liked) for being something I’m not.

How did this happen? I painted them on different days. Lining them up in the hallway for wiring for this weekends King Studio Tour - I realized they create an interesting composition together. It look oks like a vase. Reminds me of my floral days... #bettertogether @arts_society_king

Final step for King City Studio Tour this weekend... Paint the sides all pretty and watch them dry... sooo relaxing! Oh wait there’s also wiring, labeling, photographing and inventorying...
If there ever was a painting yearning for spring... it’s this one! It’s all ready(ish) for @arts_society_king Studio Tour next weekend. I’ll be at 2920 King Road with some lovely artists I am grateful to consider friends. I’m genuinely excited to share some of what I’ve been working on these past few months.
